Sunny Clear Skies.... Oh What GLORY!

Friday, September 4, 2015

We've often heard the saying... you don't fully appreciate something until it has gone missing.  Indeed, I always try to live a very grateful and thankful life, being appreciative for the big and small things, but truly over the last month or two.... that little saying came home to sit with us for a while!  I always have loved our beautiful weather here in Idaho, but oh how I missed the horizons during the past month when we had such smoky hazy skies, dust and dirt everywhere!

Praise the Lord, though for an unexpected weather system that passed through our area, and brought relief to the terrible wildfires we were experiencing, and ushered in a change of weather that brought back beautiful bright blue blue! sunny skies!  Thank you Lord!

Annie and I took a walk yesterday together, and I can tell you that my neck hurt from .... looking up... {smile}  I couldn't help but just look up, and be so THANKFUL for the horizons, the fluffy white clouds, the blue skies, and the sun!

The weather was absolutely glorious and a balm to my soul after the month of dusty smoke filled air and horizons!

Oh!!!  Seeing the mountains again... what joy!

The clouds were magnificent!  I simply find skies without a few clouds here and there rather ... well... boring!

Clouds add so much character and personality to the moment.. fluffy white clouds... brilliant blue skies... warm sunshine... cool breeze... ahhh!

Annie was enjoying the walk immensely... so many new sights and smells as we walked!

And lots of horses grazing in the fields.  There are at least three neighbors who have horses as we walk, and it was a joy to stop and visit with the dears!

She was sad to see us go, and told me so!  I told her we'd be back... :)

We are to get more rain this weekend, and then more sunshine... oh happy day!  Last night we got a light freeze, but thankfully the garden was covered, and all is well, for now anyway, lol!  These freezes can creep up on you unawares, especially now that the days are getting shorter.

Fall is definitely in the air, and I am so glad!  I've never been one to dread the changing of the seasons, but look at them as something new on the horizon to enjoy... each season has its joys and wonders, and its downside too, but that's just like life, isn't it!  So... I am looking up, craning my neck at the beautiful sky, and thanking the dear Lord for bringing us this cooler beautiful weather... so continue on your march, dear Fall!  I am expecting you :)

  1. Dear Annie...she must of enjoyed her sweet walk with you especially after the roster incident and being disciplined over it.
Your blue skies and clouds certainly do look lovely.
Isn't it wonderful the way God makes everything beautiful after such ugliness?
You are so right, we tend to appreciate the things we have once we lose them.
I think you are wise to build a run for the chicken. Peace of mind is worth it all.

Enjoy your weekend with whatever you find yourself doing.

    Much love~ Debbie

  6. I am SO thankful God sent this storm to clear the skies for you, dear friend! Some look at a storm as all negative, but this proves that a storm can prove to be beneficial to our lives. It is the same, spiritually-speaking, though it can be very hard to see that when we are going through the trial. S thankful for you and for the way God is taking care of you and your dear family. Much love to you from across the miles. :)

    1. You are so right about the storms... it does take a storm to bring forth something more beautiful and greater, and we sure appreciated the rain from the storm that brought back our beautiful skies and horizons! Yes, the Lord is taking such good care of us, and we are so thankful for that! Praying that your weekend continues to be blessed and that the Lord blesses you in all you are doing :)

  8. Your skies are filled with dreamy blues and fluffy whites and lots and lots of brilliant light, and I can feel your relief and amazement and joy of simply being able to breathe in this gift of clarity from the heavens. I hope that the fires did not have any casualties, but only smoke that faded with time, until it completely disappeared.

    Have a lovely week!

    1. Your sweet poetic words were just so beautiful Poppy! I think you would truly love this area, should you ever get to visit this part of the country! Oh, we were so thankful that the rain and cooler temps came without the fires getting any worse. We have seen lots of firefighters in town, relaxing, for the first time in months, bless their hearts. Such hard work they do. There were casualties from the fires, so very sad that 3 firefighters in Washington lost their lives to a fire. It is such dangerous work, and so many hundreds of people lost their homes. We were blessed here to not have any damage from a fire, and thankful now for the rain and cooler weather!

Appreciate your visit, and hope that your weekend was wonderful :)
