Days of Spring and Summer

Tuesday, July 6, 2021

It seems that the days come and go in quick succession, and before you know it, a whole beautiful month has come and gone! Such has been the month of June! And here we are in July, and half the year has passed already. I know that I've enjoyed each and every spring day to the fullest, and now that we are in the season of summer, we are making the best of the heat that has come our way. Our spring was beautiful this year, and I am amazed at how quickly it passed. Here are some pictures from June's blooming delights...

I pass this barn with its white picket fence and blooms on my daily walk.

Rhododendrons blooming in my neighbor's yard... glorious beauties they are!

Lupine plant growing bountifully this year!

Peonies from my garden being enjoyed in my home.

My husband and I enjoyed a day trip traveling the slower, back roads along the lake and river.

Glorious views!

Grand views of the banks of the river.

We stopped at this little bay inlet and enjoyed the quiet views it offered.

Clematis blooms!

Wild Johnny jumpups pop up in spring all over my garden and yard.
I transplant the tiny plant into pots, and they grow beautifully!

Oh!! The fragrance is so divine from my Julia child roses

But no fragrance compares to that of the wild rose... its fragrance is so rich and heady.

A dear neighbor invited me over for afternoon tea... what a special delight it was to visit with her!
Didn't she set a pretty table?!!

She and I are not able to get together often, but when we do, we have so much fun together,
as we both love vintage china and tea :)

Little delights in my garden!

This is the view of the lake hiked around with a dear lady who plans weekly hikes for our area.  She is 80+ years old, but is still young at heart! She has hiked all over this area and shares her great knowledge and rich library of stories with us as we hike. She is an amazing woman, and I'm thankful to be in her company on our weekly hikes!

Another view of the beautiful mountain lake we hiked around.

Spring blooms from my garden... oh how they delight my soul!

I hosted a bible study tea for my bible study ladies. It was so fun to decorate and set up for it :)

Yum. yum and more yum! I'm afraid we ate a bit too many desserts... it was all so delightful to sit and fellowship, pray and share our lives with each other!

Annie enjoying the evening sunset show with me. Our sunsets here are incredible.
I know I post a lot of sunset pictures, but they are all so different, and amazing to see!

Glorious views to enjoy as the day comes to a close.

Rhubarb and radish ... early spring crop abundance!

We attended a wedding recently where both the bride and groom are deeply involved with horses, he is a horseshoer, and she trains horses. So... they had their wedding in a horse corral and had a mini rodeo in the corral after the ceremony.  Guests brought their horses, and everyone enjoyed watching a cattle roundup.  The wedding was really nicely done, and everyone had such a good, relaxed time!

Beautiful fresh flowers adorned the tables.

Beautiful yet simple Western decor!

Such a beautiful bride and groom!

I love this shot of them praying after they had been pronounced husband and wife... before the kiss :)

Such a beautiful memorable wedding!

I hope you enjoyed this meander through the month of June... and perhaps you have noticed that my blog has a new fresh look! I want to thank Linda of Life and Linda and also My Fairy Blog Mother for the new look to my blog! She has also helped me through the perils of trying to switch over my email subscribers from Feedburner to Mail Chimp.  I so appreciate her help! If you are struggling with the challenge of doing this, I highly recommend Linda!

Of note, if you would so kindly make sure you are subscribed to my blog, that would be great to ensure that the transfer of subscriptions did not miss yours. That would be much appreciated!

Be sure and poke around my blog, and check out some of the new activities that you can enjoy. I am going through old posts, and updating my menu sections, so that old posts will be more easily accessible.

With love and hugs to all!

  2. Oh the lakes! I'd love to canoe on such beautiful lakes and rivers!

That is a sweet wedding. They look so young but I guess we all did too, when we married! I love that their wedding reflected them and their work and interests. His work - being a Farrier - is vital to horse health!

  3. Good Morning Marilyn! I SO enjoyed reading your post today. It makes me homesick for the area. I'm having a difficult time getting used to the humidity here, (98% this morning), along with the heat. I miss the Northwest and the beautiful images that you shared with us today. I miss our drives along the lakes and rivers too, BUT, I do have family and Miss Piper, so I'm trying not to complain too much. It's hard to let go of a life you've lived for 29 years and begin again.
Thank you my dear friend for taking me on your journey around one of the most beautiful places in the world. A gorgeous wedding too. They look so happy. May God bless them with His happness and many happy years together,
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. The humidity would be hard to get used to, especially since we really never had much here. I'm so glad that you have family close by though and hopefully you will enjoy the fall there with cooler temperatures. There is no scenery that can compare to the west, I agree with you! It was such a beautiful wedding, thank you for praying for them. So much new couples have to face these days as they marry! Many blessings to you dear friend!

I loved the wedding pictures, what a cute couple . . . starting out on the adventure of their lives and it warms my heart that they put the Lord before their first kiss as husband and wife. He is the only foundation for a sweet and lasting marriage.

I love that you hike with an 80+ year old woman! What a treat that must be for HER and for you, to spend that time together. You have such marvelous scenery to enjoy, I could stay out there and hike forever I think! I love your table for the ladies' Bible study group, and also your neighbor's table for the lunch/tea you spent together. Her vintage plates are gorgeous! Your flowers are so pretty and bright...and well, I just loved it all! I would LOVE to visit Idaho sometime, but we seem to have a hard time getting out of Florida or even our back yard. LOL. Oh well, I can dream. Have a blessed and wonderful weekend.

  28. Your pictures are absolutely stunning! The Bible Study Tea sounds so fun! I try to have a tea with my granddaughter at least once a year. It's been fun to collect the various plates and tea cups. My nephew had a similar wedding, his fiance' rode in on horseback, then they both rode away after the ceremony. So unique and personal!

Those teas you attended and hosted look like so much fun and those desserts...to die for. - What a unique wedding. Summer is going by quickly and I am looking forward to cooler fall temps as it's been a scorcher here this summer.

Morning skies, too! Annie looks so relaxed. And why shouldn't she? She has a perfect home in which to dwell. I'm so glad you've got good friends to spend time with. It makes life just that much sweeter. Linda does a great job on blog makeovers, doesn't she? She did a beautiful job on mine, and she's such a pleasure to work with. Have a great week! Hugs.
