~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last fall, the Lord laid on my heart the vision to write a book, which I have since published "Through Love's Eyes". After sharing my thoughts with Cheryl about writing my book, she and I together began to work diligently to get our books published. As we walked together on this journey of faith, covid-19 arrived on the scene, and we realized that both our books would be published in a time when typical avenues of book sales would be shuttered. However, we persevered and had our books published. Both of us had just received our own personal copies of our books, and promised to send each other a copy. Both of us, unknowing to each other, mailed copies of our book to each other... and this is not an exaggeration, but simply confirmation of just how the Lord works in little details... we received each other's published books, both on the same day! How incredible is that!
I can tell you this powerful book that Cheryl has written has been poured out of a life spent in prayer before the Lord, and the scriptures, experiences, and insights you will find in this book will be life-changing.
If you have always yearned for that special secret place in the Lord, there are insights in this book that will take you from a life of abundance to a more abundant life in Jesus. You see, following Jesus doesn't guarantee an easy road through life. Instead as we look more closely into the life of Jesus, we see a much different picture, and Cheryl paints that picture beautifully for us... and not only shows you what it must have been like to follow Jesus when He walked this earth, but how it can look today.
Her journey is shared as an example of what walking by faith looks like, but it will not be like your journey... or mine. Each of us are called by the Lord to walk with Him, but how that looks in each of our lives will be different. One thing that will be central to all of us though... is that Jesus is Lord of all, of everything in our heart, lives, mind and soul. Cheryl shares powerful scriptures and testimonies of just how to live that abundant life in Jesus.
Cheryl Smith is the author of the book “Biblical Minimalism,” the story of her family’s journey
from a life of abundance to a more abundant life. She is the author of the
blogs Biblical
Minimalism, where she writes about minimalism from a Biblical
perspective, and Homespun Devotions, where she writes devotionals and
conducts “Inner Views.” She loves to spend time with her husband and son in the
mountains, sing and play Bluegrass music, and write."
With much love to all of you!!!
My dad flew recently to visit with us. It was hard to know how things would be for him flying with all the covid-19 regulations, but thankfully, he flew without any difficulties at all.
With all that is going on in our world right now, I find my solace in walking in early mornings and late evenings in the golden light of those hours. One evening as I was walking the dogs, my heart was heavy for the sadness and heartache in the world. As I glanced up to the skies, I couldn't hardly believe what I was seeing. Do you see it too? I do believe the Lord speaks to us through His creation, and as this incredibly gentle yet invincible hand appeared in the sky, I felt as though it was the LORD reassuring me that this is still HIS world, and He does hold this world in the palm of His hand. We can rest in that comfort, despite the unsettling things happening in our world around us. I pray your heart will be comforted, knowing that His Hand still holds this world, and nothing escapes His attention. It brings great peace to my heart to know and see His picture in the sky for me... and for you...
I had mentioned in my last blog post that I had a special surprise for you. This is something I've been working on for some time, and I'm quite pleased to announce that I have just finished publishing a book, complete with pictures I've taken, along with pieces of my writing and thoughts. This book has been a culmination of a dream that began many years ago, as a child.
Some of you may not know that I was born in Prince Edward Island. I grew up on the sandy red shores of PEI and devoured Lucy Maud Montgomery's books as a child. I wandered the beaches with their wind-drifted sand dunes, walked the paths of the Enchanted Forest and lifted my face to the salty ocean breeze. The beauty of the world around me there on the island settled deep in my soul. Throughout my life I have always looked for the rich delight of nature around me while experiencing the love of my Saviour and seeing His expressions of love written for me, wherever life may have taken me. It was a dream as a child to one day write a book.
Eventually I left the beautiful island shores, marrying a Texan, and now we reside here in North Idaho, where once again the beauty of the world around me captures my soul each day. I've shared many of the pictures I've taken through the years here on my blog. Sharing the pictures with you, my readers, has been a source of inspiration as well, and last fall, I took a plunge into deep uncharted waters and began to write the book I'd always dreamed of.
So today, I'd like to introduce you to my book.... Through Love's Eyes.
The back cover:
Because the white font is hard to see in the photo, this is what it says:
You can find the book online at Westbow Press, which is currently the best place to buy the book, as it does offer free shipping within the United States. For those who are outside the United States, the book can be purchased here.
I'll be sharing a little more about my book in the days to come. The pandemic has certainly changed a lot of things for the publication efforts of this book, as book signings are not an option. So I'm working on some creative ways to share my book with the world, and in a few days, I hope to share some of those with you.
I want to thank each of you for your words of encouragement through the years, as they have culminated in pursuit of an opportunity to share my world through pictures, to a world that needs comfort, encouragement, and hope more than ever before. Through Love's Eyes shares beautiful scenery coupled with encouraging scriptures, writings, and thoughts to encourage the reader's heart and ultimately turn our hearts to praise and worship of the Creator who designed it all for our delight.
With all of the Lord's love, grace, and peace to each of you!
