Last night, I finally was able to accomplish a goal of mine - to take a picture of the moon where you could actually see the moon, as opposed to just a white circle of light in the sky.
The first picture I took wasn't so great, but things got better!
Having fun with it now!
Some fun edits on the moon picture:
I used the following settings on my camera (which is a Canon T5i), using my telephoto lens.
ISO 100
Shutter speed 1/125
F/stop 11
Note: Using a tripod is absolutely necessary to capture a shot of the moon, because you can't hold the camera still enough to focus with the heavy telephoto lens.
Photography is a large world, and my camera never ceases to amaze me with all it can do. I still have so much to learn, but I am enjoying the journey!
Those are fantastic pictures, MM! I actually even love the first one. It looks like the face in the moon I always loved as a kid. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHey ND! I could see the man in the moon too!
DeleteI like the second picture the best!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I can't decide which one I love best....
DeleteSuch majestic images of the new moon! You have captured our earth's natural satellite in its starry splendour, aglow in the blackness of night, like a light at the end of a dark tunnel, twinkling in the distance, guiding us towards hope.

Pretty amazing, isn't it that we can see something so far away. It was quite exciting for me to be able to get the right settings on my camera to take this picture, as I just have so much to learn.
