Morning Songs of Joy

Monday, March 2, 2015

This past week, the sun came up, and just as it hit the edge of the trees outside my kitchen window, I noticed that there were beautiful sunbeams streaming from the edges of the sun as it beamed through the night shadows.

As the sun begin to rise in the distance, the beams of light spread gently through the trees.

Annie came outside to watch the sunrise with me, although she was somewhat perplexed as to "what" I was watching, lol!

Ah!  So that's why you're standing out here in the 20 degree cold for?  ...  Just another sunrise?

I'm sure she felt like shaking her head... after all a sunrise is a sunrise, right?

So then Roger came to see what the fuss was about - and he felt quite perplexed as well...

Both dogs decided their time would be spent more wisely wrestling... so off they went to do their "doggy" thing....

But for me.... I was drinking in the dose of beautiful morning sunlight sprinkling the cold air ...

And praising the Lord for such a beautiful start to another day!

"Where morning dawns and evening fades, you call forth songs of joy."  Psalms 65:8 (NIV)

Amen!

  1. Gorgeous. I woke up early the other morning and the sky was actually hot pink as the sun was rising. It was so magical against the white of the snow. Every now and then, sunrise or sunset just seems a little more lovely, huh?

    1. Kim, I agree, I can't decide whether I love sunrises or sunsets more... and especially in the winter, they just are so spectacular!

  3. What a beautiful post. Gorgeous photography.
Thanks for leaving me a comment. No- I wasn't referencing you but you might think about just giving yourself a nickname for visitors to call you by. Even Spicey or something. If you want to grow your blog and have more comments it really helps to make some kind of a personal connection with others. That, however, is entirely up to you. I fully understand about not being on social media. Some of my family opt to not do that, too, because they are federal officials and don't want to be "out there".

I enjoy talking with you and thanks for the input on my comments today. xo Diana

    1. Hi NanaDiana, thanks so much for stopping by, as it is always wonderful to make new blogging friends. I am not really trying to grow my blog too much, and certainly don't want any ads, if I can help it. I just enjoy sharing my thoughts here, few and humble as they may be, lol! Thanks again for visiting, and for the chance to get to know you better!

  7. It really makes such a difference to wake up to such glorious sunshine, covering the land, shining in the skies, piercing the clouds! We've finally been having more typical Cretan temps, after a very cold and rainy spell, and I can't tell you how much energy engulfed me, this morning, so that instead of retiring to hours of early morning surfing/blogging, I opened the windows to let the sun and fresh air in, and immediately started cleaning, and actually enjoying it, with Norah Jones playing in the background, (and me accompanying her!), I had the house spic and span in no time.

The sun, peeking in through those tall trees, allowing the day to begin, is like a gentle alarm clock, soothingly shining its rays on us, and in a warm whisper, wakes our bodies and souls to life.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

    Hugs,
    Poppy

    1. I think I shall ask you to write my love letters to nature for me - your way with words is amazing! I enjoyed the morning sunrise all over again with your descriptions! Yes, an amazing alarm clock - love that analogy!

How wonderful that you are enjoying early spring weather! I too long for the day when spring arrives, and it seems it won't be long, as the sun rises higher and higher in the sky each day. :)
